"Holiday Bubbly"
Veuve du Vernay
Brut Rose $10
Blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, light pink in color
with fine bubbles. Aromatic on the nose with hints of
strawberry and citrus. Refreshing and clean on the palate
with vibrant entry and soft finish, fruit driven hints
of berries and lemon.
'04 Saint-Hilaire Brut $12
Created by the Benedictine Monks of the Abbey of Saint-Hilaire
over 450 years ago; more than 100 years before the first
champagne was created. It remains one of the world's
finest sparkling wines, and it constitutes the highest
quality value ratio of any sparkling wine in the world!
Rustico Prosecco $16
Rustico's Prosecco offers up classic notes of white
peaches, flowers and sweet spices. This medium-bodied
wine possesses excellent persistence and a clean finish.
This is just about as good as Prosecco gets at the non-vintage
level.
'04 Gloria Ferrer Blanc de Blancs
$16
Gloria's Blanc de Blancs is produced from hand-harvested
Carneros Chardonnay. This small production wine displays
both an aromatic delicacy and an opulent texture. The
bouquet is reminiscent of pear and orange blossoms,
opening to a distinct toasty character. Elegant flavors
of ripe pear, white chocolate and a brisk, fine mousse
frame the silky mouthfeel.
Nicolas Feuillatte Brut 375 $18
Made of 40% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot
Meunier. The nose is floral with subtle predominance
of white fruits while the palate is fresh, smooth, pleasant
and balanced. Great as an aperitif or for accompanying
an entire meal
Cheese
Belletoile $10.85/lb
Belletoile, a triple cream, bloomy rind cheese made
by the French fromagerie Hutin. Both rich and mellow
in flavor, Belletoile Triple Cream is a spreadable cheese
that is creamy, buttery and luscious. Try this cheese
on crusty French bread or top with brown sugar and slivered
almonds.
Mirabo with Walnut $11.99/lb
Mirabo Walnut
Brie offers a creamy background of soft-ripened cheese
with walnuts that add a distinct flavor. This tasty
combination of the calcium from the cheese and the fiber
and protein from the nuts makes Mirabo Walnut an indulgence
that's good for you too!
Cured Mahon $15.99/lb
aged
10 months, Mahon, from the island of Menorca, is one
of a few cow's milk cheeses from Spain. Mahon boasts
a certain sharpness, and its lemony, salty flavors evince
the rural Mediterranean seascape. Its rind contains
a hard, crumbly cheddar-like texture and darkens as
the wheels age. At peak, Mahon is tangy, intense and
delicious. Topped with your favorite fruit spread makes
an easy, quick appetizer.
Jacquin Bleuet $19.99/lb
The "Bleuet" is a
specialty of JACQUIN cheese dairy created by P. Jacquin.
A blue veined, pasteurized goat*s milk cheese, it is
mild and creamy. Despite the parsley appearance, the
taste remains soft and the strength only lies in the
shape, which recalls a long pyramid.
