"Bargain Blancs"
2006 Kenwood
Sauvignon Blanc $10
This refreshing Sauv Blanc has hints of key lime, honeydew
melon and honeysuckle. Elegantly balanced, delicate
and fragrant. Superb as an aperitif and excellent with
seafood, pasta and poultry dishes.
2005 Fortress
Sauv Blanc $9
Lush with fresh ripe fruit, complex aromas and flavors
of vibrant citrus, key lime, tangerine and apricot,
and a refined texture leading to a rich, round, lingering
finish.
2006 White Knight
Sauv Blanc $10
This wine is well balanced, between the rich, fruity
body and the racy acid, followed by lingering citrus
on the finish. This is a great wine for warm weather,
with concentrated
flavors and a light and crisp finish.
2007 Juno Sauvignon
Blanc $9
The promises from the nose definitely deliver on the
palate in full enthusiastic portions of passion fruit,
pineapple and green pepper. Lingering aftertaste which
ends in an attractive finish.
2007 Root 1 Sauvignon Blanc $10
Tropical aromas of grapefruit, lime and pineapple are
elegantly balanced with crisp acidity, mineral notes
and a long fresh finish. Pairs well with chicken caesar
salad, grilled fish, ceviche and creamy pasta sauces.
Cheese
Chevrion Basil
Goat Cheese $3.99/pc
Since fresh goat cheese tends to be mild, the addition
of basil to this soft creamy cheese lends a pleasant
herbal flavor and a welcome savory undertone. Great
as a sandwich spread, addition to a pasta sauce or on
top of fresh, straight from the garden tomatoes.
Carr Valley Mobay
$14.49/lb
A delicious take on the famous French cheese, Morbier.
This cheese features a layer of sheep milk cheese and
a layer of goat milk cheese separated by a layer of
grape vine ash. The flavor is both delicate and rustic.
Taste each layer separately and then together for three
different flavor profiles in one great cheese.
Saxon Creamery
Greenfields $11.69/lb
Unpressed, washed rind cheese made from whole raw cow's
milk. Very approachable for a washed rind, creamy, nutty,
soft and mild. Pairs great with white wines. Melts well.
Beemster with
Garlic $9.99/lb Beemster with garlic is a dream come
true for any garlic lover. Smooth and creamy with the
addition of wild field garlic. Melts perfectly. Great
on sandwiches, melted on pizza or in mac and cheese.
